 I
did not make it to the Papa Look-Alike finals.
But my picture from the day before's
Running of the Bulls did end up on the Front Page of the local
Key West Sunday paper, The Citizen!
What an Honor! It is tradition
that the Past Winners of the Papa Look-Alike Contest Ride the
Bulls. The Papas told me to ride since I was working the bull
pen (posing with the tourists) nonstop earlier that morning.
That is why you see me, a first year contestant riding the Bull!
They allowed me to go first, which is why the photographer snapped
the picture you see on the front page on the left.
The Hemingway Days Running of
the Bulls goes around the block starting from Sloppy Joe's Greene
Street side entrance, to Anne Street, to Caroline Street, then
to Duval Street to Sloppy Joe's main front entrance.
CAPTION: The
annual Hemingway Days 'Running of the Bulls' took place in front
of Sloppy Joe's Bar Saturday, making a 'run' down Greene Street
, around the block to Duval Street and concluding once again
in front of Sloppy Joe's. Past Hemingway look-alike's dressed
in the Pamplona style led the way.
